THIS WEB SITE IS THE OFFICIAL WEB SITE OF THE BEFF.
THE TEAMS THAT WILL BE IN THE BEFF WILL BE ANNOUNCED VERY SOON.
In 2007, the league consisted of six teams. By the end of that season it was only five left standing. Many thought that the "little league in the corner" would not make it into the 2008 season.
Well surprise, surprise; not only did they make it into the 2008, they signed six teams from the DVIFL because it was folding and the ALL STAR game between the two leagues was all it took to make the Philly teams want to be a part of the BEFF.
So now the "Developmental" league was beginning to catch glances from other local league as something they should start paying more attention to. The games was fun to watch and the teams was showing to everyone that they were not the cast offs many people tried to label them as.
The New Jersey Longhorns in the past had a hard time getting off the ground as an organization, a season under the guidance of the BEFF Board; they started to show great improvement not only on the field, but in the front office.
The Longhorns have turned themselves from a struggling team to one of the better teams in the tri state area.
The concept of the BEFF was working in full swing. What was the concept you ask? It was simple; teach the leaders of the organization how to run the team like a business and not just a bunch of guys wanting to play football. Mr. Dexter Girven held meetings educating each GM and owner how to run a productive organization by thinking business first football second.
The 2007 was now a thing of the past and with the additions of the new teams, the BEFF became the BNEFF, the Big North East Football Federation. The league now was running two Conferences, the Empire (NY and the newly formed Keystone (PA).
The competition became even better and now not only was the other leagues taking glances at the BNEFF, they were amazed at the growth and professionalism of the league. The BNEFF was now in full forward motion.
The Charter teams of the BEFF now were teaching other teams how to become a more productive organization. The task was not over yet. With the influx
Of new team in 2010, the BEFF is taking another turn.
Now, the BEFF is a full fledged fall league. Some of the older teams will choose to stay in the fall for different reasons like fields, players etc. This has changed the feel of the league now; from a developmental league to a very competitive fall league with some very good teams in it. Most of the newer teams will be placed in the BEFF to give them a chance to grow. The BEFF will have two conferences like the BNEFF. Both leagues will be ran my Mr. Tracy Alford, the newly named Commissioner and his staff of hardworking people ready to take on any challenge.
